An Avocado in the Snow

An avocado
An avocado, found in the snow near Portland St and Broadway, Cambridge, MA

An avocado in the snow.
Who left it there? I do not know.
Not Father, Son, nor Ghost so holy,
Rebirths you into guacamole.
Did leaping from this wretched fate
Allow you to feel special, great?
Or did, cast down like ancient foe,
You weep from terror, weep from woe?
But lie here now, near Portland Street,
And rest, green flesh and tasty meat.

    And you didn’t rescue it?! Poor lost souls like this should always be brought home for dinner, especially this time of year. He clearly doesn’t have a family to go home to!

    You are an odd duck.

    Also, after reading this verse, I found a different one stuck in my head, this one by the late, great Mr. Frank Zappa:

    Call any vegetable
    Call it by name
    Call one today when you
    Get off the train
    Call any vegetable
    And the chances are good
    That the vegetable will respond to you.

Yes, the most delicious hamburger of all is not brown, but
green. The green of money. Denominations of hamburger
(and current value in USD:)

* 1/4-pounder ($3.79)
* Cuneiform, or "Cuney" ($8.00)

Problems with the currency:

1. Deflation due to hunger
2. Fraud (soy fillers)
3. Hamburgers not invented yet
